As part of the celebration, the city hung enlargements of archival images. This one is the Escalinata and the building we live in (which is called Casa de la Escalinata). The stairway now stretches all the way across instead of just down the middle. Our building was named the Best Building of the Year in 1945 so this photo must be about that time. Our apartment is the very bottom floor where you can see our kitchen, living room and bedroom windows.
