Artisans from all over Ecuador and beyond come for the November Art Festival which coincides with Cuenca's Independence from Spain and All Saint's Day (Halloween/Day of the Dead). The holiday atmosphere in Cuenca starts in mid-October and doesn't end until the New Year.
