Parades are pretty common here but this one really surprised me. I found out that it was a parade for the 911 Emergency Service. They actually had groups of school kids in their uniforms parading down the main streets in town all the way to Parque Calderdon. One of the bystanders told me it was to bring attention to the proper use of the emergency service phone numbers.
